Robin Patras

Salman Sarwar Butt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Oberlin College, Ohio, USA, and a Diploma from the University of Kent at Canterbury. Having started his career with Citibank in 1991, he has spent 24 years in Consumer Banking holding various senior level management positions with RBS and ABN AMRO.

Salman successfully launched and managed the Consumer Loans Businesses at ABN AMRO Pakistan. In 2001 he was made the Country Consumer Retail Bank Head for Pakistan. In 2006 he moved to Indonesia in the same role, and in 2007 he moved back to Pakistan as Retail Bank Head of a larger acquired entity (RBS and Prime) and was involved in integrating and managing the two banks.

He also launched the first Islamic Banking Consumer Business for ABN AMRO (in Pakistan) and assisted in developing Islamic Business proposals in other parts of the Asian region.
